The 2006 Volkswagen Touareg has learned one of the most important lessons that all auto manufactures must sometimes learn. If the car is perfect, don't change it.
However, in years that no great discoveries are made in those fields, too many automakers feel the need to try and redesign an already excellent car in order to get a jump on their competition. Often, this results in changes to things that people greatly enjoyed, and just causes frustration.
Volkswagen realized that its Luxury SUV had all of the things that people were looking for in 2005, and so decided to leave it that way. There are of course the minor changes that take place on all new cars from year to year, but by and large, the 2006 Volkswagen Touareg is the same vehicle that so many loved in 2005.
